The success story of MASC has been brought to reality due to the relentless efforts of many hands that came forward to build this institution brick by brick. MASC is a educational  project of Al Nasar Trust. The Trust was founded by Dr M. Ali. The Trust has been in the forefront of providing quality education at an  affordable cost in the region of Peruvallur. It is administered by a group of educationalists and social workers. The main objective of the Trust is to promote excellent education to all. The Trust founded out of an immense passion for contributing to the society, strives to promote the cause of education. This institution is corner stones of affordable quality education. Al Nasar Trust, Puvathur, is a charitable Trust, registered under the Charitable Societies Act, established in 1995 (Reg.No.889/95).The Trust undertakes various activities for the upheaval of the poor and oppressed. Al Nasar Trust gives monthly ration to 200 poor families @Rs500/-pm. Nearly 20 houses were constructed and handed over the key to the families concerned. The Trust also gives marriage assistance, medical aid to those who come under the jurisdiction of the Trust. Trust also distributes ten to twenty five kilos of rice to more than 200 families thrice in a year.

   I.   Academic Co-ordination Division (ACD). Faculty Administration that includes all functions relating to:
  • Office Management
  • Establishment matters comprising creation of posts, appointments and postings of academics’, recruitment by Transfer/Deputation, implementation of Government directives governing concessions in appointments
  • Personnel matters viz., service matters comprising probation and confirmation, leave, seniority, extensions and re-employment, , regulation of pay, forwarding of applications for other employment, resignations and deputation, etc
  • Conduct, Discipline and Vigilance matters
  • Formulation of rules, regulations etc
  • Preparation of Agenda papers/notes for various statutory committees like Establishment Committee, Board of Management, etc and organisation of committee work.
II. Faculty Development, comprising:
  • Career Advancement of the University faculty
  • Performance Appraisal
  • Refresher Courses/Orientation Programmes and other training programmes for the faculty and academics
  • Study/Sabbatical leave to Teachers’ and Academics’ to pursue higher studies and promoting research, respectively
III. Management of Research:The Research Council, under overall guidance and supervision of the Academic Council, is responsible for the planning, management, organization and monitoring of Research Programmes. The Research Council performs the following functions:
  • Management and administration of the research policy and programmes of the University
  • Formulation of guidelines for registration, supervision, programme design, evaluation
  • Advice on research priorities and allocation of resources for research
  • Preparation of the consolidated reports on research efforts of the University
  • Any other work related to research development and co-ordination
IV. Academic CouncilThe Academic Council is the principle academic body of college which has the control and general regulation of, and be responsible for, the maintenance of standards of learning, education, instruction, evaluation and examination within the college and shall exercise such other powers and perform such other functions as may be conferred or imposed upon it by the Statutes. The Academic Council and its Standing Committee is being managed by the division with Director, Academic Co-ordination Division as the Member Secretary.V. Project Control UnitThe Project Control Unit, which is under the Academic Coordination Division maintains a students’ data base and related information which is disseminated to various departments and other agencies, as and when required.The Unit also processes proposals for signing of agreements relating to sharing of learning material developed by the University with State Open Universities and other Correspondence Courses/Distance Learning institutions in the country.ADMINISTRATION DIVISION (AD)A college has two important components: The student and the teacher, in that order. The intellectual interaction between these two makes an academic institution. And to make this interaction possible, a third component is required. And that component is administrative support. The role of administration, thus, has to be understood in the above perspective.Statutory BodiesThe college is an academic institution; the primary function of Administration in a college system is to provide support to the academic activities of the Collegea. The Board of Management: The principal executive body of the Collegeb. The Academic Council: The principal academic body responsible for academic policies of the Collegec. The Planning Board: The principal planning body of the college which is also responsible for monitoring the developments of the University on the lines indicated in the objects of the colleged. Schools of Studies: The basic academic units responsible for formulation of academic programmese. The Finance Committee: Advises the Board of Management on all matters concerning financial management of the UniversityUniquenessA unique feature of the College is that it also functions as an apex body for the Higher Education System. To perform this function a separate statutory body has been created, namely,. It is responsible for the promotion and coordination for determination of its standards.FacilitatorThe processes involved in formulating proposals for consideration of these bodies, organising their legislation and implementing the decisions taken by these bodies form the core responsibility of Administration. The other major responsibility is to provide support to all functional and operational Divisions, including Schools of Studies, by providing the required manpower as also other necessary infrastructure facilities. In effect, Administration functions as a facilitating mechanism so that the college can adequately meet the objects as set out in the Act and Statutes.Functions
  • Governance Section- Deals with Constitution of various authorities, processing proposals for placing before various authorities, follow- up actions on the decisions of the authorities, correspondence with important outside agencies like the Department of Education, UGC etc., formulation of statutes, ordinances etc. and dealing with Parliament Questions.
  • Establishment Section- All service matters, from recruitment to relieving, of non-academic employees of the College
  • Gen. Admn Section- All housekeeping activities like tele-communication, guesthouse facility, hospitality arrangements, leasing of accommodation.
  • Central Purchase Unit- Purchase of equipments and furniture.
  • Security Unit- Campus Security
  • Public Relations Unit- Liaison with general public and media.
  • SC/ST Cell- Looks after the welfare of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Students
  • Coordination Section- Personal Claims (such as Medical Advance, LTC, TA/DA) including loans an d advances to employees.
FINANCE AND ACCOUNTS DIVISION (FAD)The Finance & Accounts Division is responsible for the following activities:
  • Collection of Revenue Receipts on behalf of the College.
  • Payments to staff members,
  • Payments to outside parties for supply of material and service rendered,
  • Preparation of Budget Estimates, Review of Receipts and Expenditure to facilitate the Management Information System with periodic inputs,
  • Preparation of Annual Accounts
  • Maintenance of Provident Fund
  • Investment of funds to generate additional resources for the organisation
  • Management of the Funds of the Projects sponsored by outside organisations, and Maintenance of Employees Welfare Fund Accounts
LIBRARY AND DOCUMENTATION DIVISION (LDD)The Mother College library is the most resourceful information centre. The library has the largest collection of books, journals and other related materials in the field of Education.As the role of the Library within any College can be realized only in the context of the institution's philosophy of education, the basic objectives of the L&DD are in tune with those of the Mother They are as follows:
  • To develop appropriate collections in various disciplines for satisfying the needs of the diverse clientele of the libraries of the College
  • To provide reading, lending, reference, information and documentation facilities to all categories of staff and students,
  • To develop a special collection of education books and journals at the libraries
  • To provide documentation and comprehensive reference/information services in areas related to education
MissionThe primary mission of the library is to support the educational programmes of the College by providing physical and intellectual access to information. In accordance with the objectives of the College, the library aims to develop a comprehensive collection of documents, useful for the readers.sectionsAcquisitionSection:Acquisition Section of the Library deals with the purchase of books, reference books, textbooks serial publication and multi-volume books. The section also deals with day to day operations such as receiving indents for purchase of books, checking duplicates, placing orders, receiving and entering the books with serial number in the accession register as well as in the system of the Library and the budget control etc.TechnicalProcessingSection:Technical services are the "behind the scene" activities that a library undertakes to effectively deliver library services to the public. These services include the processes and procedures which are necessary to order library materials, like classifying, cataloging, assigning subject headings, data entry, checking and physical processing, to get the materials ready to put on library shelves. These services also include the activities that are necessary to control the lending and returning of library materials. Other technical services include the activities related to preservation of library materials. Library follows Dewey Decimal classification scheme for classification, AACR2 for Cataloguing, Library of Congress Subject Headings for assigning subject headings and Cutter’s Author mark for Book numbers etc.PeriodicalsSection:Periodical section handles Print Journals Databases. Processes Journal subscriptions, renewals, orders, payments/advances, Journals receipts, bound volumes every year. Maintains budget (s), accounts and statistics. Regulates the shelf arrangement of the current journals, displays recent arrivalsdaily.CirculationSection:This is the front end of library operations providing the lending services to the library users. All the functions of this section are computerised and the transactions in this section are based on the barcode technology. All the Registered Library Users are provided with a ID Card and all the books in the library are codedand Website Maintenance for Online Resources.Administration Section:This section handles Budget proposals and monitors the overall expenditure incurred in the Library including settlement of bills, Advances, Imprest amounts etc. Purchase of Equipment and other materials needed for library operation Maintenance of Stock, assets and Consumable registers including stock verification. Annual Maintenance Contracts for all equipments and privatisation of Xerox unit. Posting of staff members in shift duties, holiday duties and maintenance of their leave records and attendance. Maintenance of Institutional Membership records. Over all maintenance of Library building including insurance and pest control. Liaisons with administration, finance and engineering departments. Attends to both internal and external audits.COMPUTER DIVISION (CD)Computer Division is backbone of the Mother Arts And Science College which provides various Computing and Network services through Information & Communication Technologies for its students and staff.Feedback System is a web based application that is used for collecting and managing the feedback from students and Teachers on academic/non-academic activities in the college. As a part of continuous evaluation, this software paves to be the milestone in improving the quality of education, thus enlightens professional student-teacher relationship Key Activities

PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT DIVISION (PDD)The Planning and development Division, a Monitoring organ of the University.
  • To set the vision and directions of the Quality Teaching.
  • To optimise the utilisation of resources .
  • To instill Total Quality Management in all the areas of Mother Arts And Science College operations.
  • The college is truely blessed to be under the guidance of  Miss C.V. Mini , MSc.M.Phil,NET with her vast experience and knowledge .She has served the institution for the last twelve years in the Dept of Chemistry.Joined as an Asst.Prof , she has taught vast no of students in all streams.She has already proved her caliber in teaching by using ultra modern teaching aids.She has completed her studies from Vimala College Thrissur and Christ College Irinjalakuda. She  has a keen interest to develop extra curricular and co- curricular activities to the students.Being natured in uncomparable study ambiance, she possess such an extraordinary relationship with faculties , students,parents and well wishers. Thorough in subject ,sharp in decisions and  cent % in dedication makes her the pevetal figure in the institution.Learning and studying under her guidance is an everlasting experience.                              
Candidate will have to fulfill the basic requirements of admission, as sidelined by the University regulations and the College.                    

Eligibility for admission UG programme:+2/ equivalent with pass mark PG programme: Any degree with pass mark Admission procedure
  • Admission to all UG programmes under Merit Quota are through Centralised Admission Process (CAP) of  the University of Calicut. All candidates seeking admission to UG  programmes have to register their names in Directorate of Admission in the University of Calicut. The University will alot candidates to the Merit Quota. 50% of total seats will be on Merit Quota. 
  • The other 50% of seats will be alotted under Management Quota.
  • Admission to Management Quota will be processed on the basis of the marks secured in qualifying examinations.Separate application forms can be had from the college office on payment of Rs 200/-.Discussion will be done with the selected candidates before the admission.
  • Reservation for SC/ST (20%) PH (3%) outstanding Sports and Games students (one in each class)as per University norms will be given from merit quota,if relevant certificates are submitted along with the application.

  • The principal has the discretion  to refuse admission to any candidates .
  • Students admitted to the college shall abide by the rules and regulations of the college.
